Vantor Care Athens
Our Athens branch opened in 2022 on Prince Avenue, a short drive from both Piedmont Athens Regional and St. Mary's. It serves a mix of college-town neighborhoods and rural counties where the nearest hospital can be half an hour away.
Athens has become our dementia care lead. Its nurses and therapists have all completed dementia-capable care training, and the branch works with the memory clinic at St. Mary's to support patients whose dementia is complicating recovery from something else, like a broken hip or pneumonia.
Because many of the branch's patients are cared for by a spouse who is also older, Athens social workers spend extra time on caregiver support, connecting families with the Northeast Georgia Area Agency on Aging and local adult day programs.
